Suburban Kids
We played all day...
And we played real hard...
We played in the park...
And in everyone’s yard...
Sometimes at the playground...
Or at a neighbor’s pool...
We played morning, noon and night...
At home and at school...
We were suburban kids...
And life was good...
We were all close friends...
In our neighborhood...
We often played baseball...
Or we had a tug o’war...
We played in the street...
Until someone yelled CAR!
Sometimes we would argue...
Over who was wrong or right...
Occasionally we might wrestle...
But rarely did we fight...
We were suburban kids...
And life was good...
We were all close friends...
In our neighborhood...
We jumped over fences...
Instead of walking around the block...
We walked in our friends houses...
Without barely a knock...
We knew all the moms...
And the moms knew us, too...
Whenever we did something wrong...
It seemed like all the moms knew...
We were suburban kids...
And life was good...
We were all close friends...
In our neighborhood...
